Food and Wine Trails

Pack your appetite

Eat and drink your way around South Australia. It’s a great way to experience this beautiful state and meet the locals. Food and wine trails make it easy. Grab a trail brochure and hit the road.

Gourmet cheese plate, Barossa, South Australia

The Barossa’s Butcher, Baker, Winemaker Trail is a bit of mouthful, in more ways than one. The trail leads to wineries, restaurants and shops offering food and wine experiences. Discover wineries and eateries or join a specialist tour.

Para Road Wine Path

If you like combining wine tasting with walking, the Para Road Wine Path is perfect. The path follows the Para River and passes four Barossa cellar doors. If you’re travelling in November, go along to the Para Road Wine Path Day. The event showcases new release wines, delicious food and breezy music.

Cheese and wine

If you’re a cheese fiend, pick a cheese and wine trail and go on a progressive picnic. There are trails in McLaren Vale, the Barossa, Clare Valley and Adelaide Hills. Visit cellar doors, select your wines and sample matched cheeses from your included cooler bag. It’s that easy... and tasty.

Riesling Trail and Rattler Trail

Grab a bike and hit the Clare Valley’s Riesling Trail. It’s a recreational walking and cycling trail, linking local towns. Get serious and work up a sweat or take a stroll in the sun. Either way, you’re never far from restaurants, cafés and cellar doors.

Seafood and Aquaculture Trail

For something fishy, try the Seafood and Aquaculture Trail. It’s on the Eyre Peninsula, which produces more than 60 per cent of South Australia's seafood. Swim with tuna, eat an oyster fresh from the ocean or enjoy Spencer Gulf king prawns while overlooking the water.

Cherry Trail

If you like getting your hands dirty, pick your own cherries in the Adelaide Hills on the Cherry Trail. Local growers have produced a cherry map and invite you to visit one or all of the featured orchards. Many of the orchards grow more than cherries. You may also find figs, raspberries, apples, plums and apricots.

See the sights, admire the views and meet the locals, all while enjoying the best food and wine.
